20 Years Later (2019-2021)

20 Years Later

2019-Present

Martin E. Segal Center and The Wild Project (NY)

"20 Years Later" is a documentary theatre performance created from testimonies and interviews with people aged 20 and under exploring what they have been taught about September 11, 2001. The play is comprised of testimonies from young people, and those who were teenagers on September 11, 2001 investigating what it means to be the "post 9-11 generation".  "20 Years Later" is inspired by the 2011 work "10 Years Later" created between Co-Op Theatre East and Project Girl Performance Collective/Girl Be Heard with young people about the decade after September 11, 2001.

A 15-minute excerpt of 20 Years Later was presented at the Martin E. Segal Center as part of the 2019 "Screening Performance; Performance Screens" conference. This workshop was streamed on HowlRound (the performance begins at 11:35 on this).

An additional excerpt was presented at The Wild Project (in March 2020) as part of "Generation Now", one week before the coronavirus shutdown of theater spaces in New York.
